DESCRIPTION

The Black at PWI rebrand fuses academic elegance with contemporary flair, highlighted by rich jewel tones. It's more than a new look; it's a commitment to inclusivity, mentorship, cultural pride, and well-being, echoing the supportive essence of HBCUs in a PWI setting.

Black students at predominantly white institutions (PWIs) navigate a landscape riddled with challenges unique to their experience. They band together, forming tight-knit communities akin to "mini HBCUs," fostering connections and legacies. Yet, these vital spaces can't fully replicate the depth of support and cultural affirmation found at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Amidst a backdrop where initiatives for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) face reductions, Black students often grapple with feelings of alienation and diminished safety. The hurdles they encounter, from racial bias to cultural dissonance, weigh heavily on both their mental well-being and academic journey.

Black at PWI represents more than a mere branding initiative; it signifies a deep-seated commitment to enhancing the well-being and prosperity of Black students within PWIs. By harnessing the power of storytelling, especially through captivating photographic narratives, the initiative aims to cultivate a broader online community that transcends the physical confines of campuses. This innovative strategy seeks to transform the PWI experience, ensuring Black students not only find their space but also thrive and make their mark.
